Advanced Orthomolecular Research UTI Cleanse - Does It Work?-Review

What is Advanced Orthomolecular Research UTI Cleanse?

UTI Cleanse, or UTI Cleanse Now With Cranberry, is manufactured by Advanced Orthomolecular Research: This company claims that it is effective in preventing urinary tract infections (UTIs), and that it can treat an acute UTI as well as prevent a recurrence.

Ingredients & How It Works

  • Dried cranberry juice (vaccinium macrocarpon aiton) (100 mg)
  • D-mannose (1000 mg); magnesium stearate
  • Sodium stearyl fumarate
  • Sodium carboxymethylcellulose
  • Tricalcium phosphate
  • Rice syrup

Cranberries contain tannins called proanthocyanidins that help reduce bacteria clinging onto the urinary tract walls. Bacteria will attach themselves to the introduced D-mannose, instead of to the D-mannose residue naturally found in the body. The D-mannose ingested is expelled from the body, together with the bacteria attached to it.

Daily Serving

The manufacturer recommends that adults take one (1) or two (2) tablets four to five times each day. These tablets should be taken without food and used for a minimum of four weeks. The manufacturer also states that the user can, as an alternative, follow the recommendations of a health-care provider or doctor.

The Cost

This product is available in two different bottle sizes: a 60-tablet bottle and a 120-tablet bottle. The price of the product is not listed on the company’s own website. On some third-party sites, such as iHerb, this product has been discontinued. However, our research did find this product on another third-party site, namely, Amazon. A 120-tablet bottle costs $69.00 on Amazon, excluding the shipping fee of $26.30.

Guarantee

The manufacturer does guarantee that the product is free from wheat, gluten, nuts, peanuts, sesame seeds, sulphites, mustard, soy, dairy, eggs, fish, and shellfish; and free from any animal by-product. However, despite our research efforts, we were unable to find a guarantee that protected customers. Nor were we able to find a return policy. This raises concerns that this product may not be as effective as claimed.

Our Review Summary Of UTI Cleanse

To conclude, our research found certain good aspects of the product UTI Cleanse. Firstly, this product contains cranberry and D-mannose, both elements effective at treating and preventing UTIs. In addition, the product is available in two different bottle sizes, thereby assisting buyers who wish to use this product for more than a month. This could, however, imply that the product is not effective; or that it takes longer to work than other products. This could explain the lack of a guarantee. The formula lacks a key ingredient, namely lingonberry. This substance combined with cranberry was found by clinical studies to work better than cranberry on its own. However, it should also be mentioned that this product is hard to find: the company seems not to sell it on its own website, and some third-party sites have withdrawn this product from their sites.
